Criss-Cross Straps
Strappy details have remained steadfast in swimwear, and show no signs of fading for 2019 swimsuit trends. This strappy detail is equal parts aesthetic and function—as a structural element, multi-strap construction allows for a more equal distribution of weight, compared to single skinny straps.
Yellow Hues
Yellow bathing suits are definitely having a moment—from shocking highlighter hues to mellow, buttery shades of gold. For our Summer 2019 collection, we tapped into the seasonal golden hour with a universally-flattering “sunshine” yellow.
Back to Basics
Classic swimwear in black and white shades always reign supreme with an elegant approach to simplicity. We’re drawn into the old Hollywood glamour of pairing these solid suits with tortoiseshell sunglasses and a bold, red lip.
Hardware
Zippers, belts, and metal fasteners—hardware has become a flashy-yet-utilitarian staple in 2019 swimsuit trends. We’re personally in love with waist-defining belt buckles and gold-toned zipper pulls that glint in the sun and allow you to adjust cleavage levels on an as-needed basis, for swimming or sunbathing.
Multitasking Suits
With innovation in traditional swim fabrics, the lines between bodysuit and swimsuit are blurring. Meaning, wearing your bathing suit as a top will actually be… comfortable. This year, spring swimwear is all about multitasking—pair printed and solid one pieces with your best denim, or get adventurous and pair bikini tops with high waist midi or maxi skirts.
Ruffles
On the opposite side of the minimalist spectrum, ruffled bathing suits have appeared to bring whimsy to the traditionally “barely there” silhouettes. In the realm of 2019 swimsuit trends, we’re seeing ruffles that add volume to visually balance out shapes and decorative ruffle accents for a delicate, feminine touch.
